Leap

I stand in this corner, Ill-defined

You reached out your hand.

Sorry.

I’m too afraid to cross that line.

Inches apart, we sat in silence as you listen to the pouring rain.

I could not look at you when you asked me,

“Tomorrow, will it rain again?”

You pushed too hard, I had to sidestep

I said “I’m too afraid to fall”

You made me quiver at the sound of your heartbeat

When you answered “don’t we all?”

Again, you reached out your hand

and said it would be fine.

Sorry .

I’m still afraid to cross this line.
